Many clients come to us asking “What are the duties of the Personal Representative?” The job of the PR is not to be taken lightly. The PR is an officer of the court, and as such must be deemed qualified to hold the position and must abide by certain requirements. The PR must obtain, store and establish the value of all of the assets held by the estate, send out a Notice of Administration, and provide an avenue for anyone to object to the estate distribution, including both creditors and beneficiaries.
