Getting Through This Time Together
Fortunately we have experienced challenging times before this one. The twin storms of 2004 were a prime example. We were evacuated from our office for four months. Through necessity, we worked remotely. Our ability to complete our tasks for our clients was amazing.
Many of our clients are asking what we are doing during the current stressful period. We are open and adjusting to the needs and reasonable requests of our clients. We have viewed numerous webinars over the last month suggesting the best methods of practice during this time. We are adjusting day to day to better serve our clients.
Although we often suggest that you review your Estate Plan every couple of years, few people do. Now that you have additional time on your hands, it would be a great time to do this. Many times when our clients review their plans they find something that is not as they had recalled. Whether it is your health care surrogate, your power of attorney or even your successor trustee, you may not recall who it is correctly. These are all very important positions.
Moreover, with all of the changes in the tax laws over the last few years many of our plans are out of date. If you need our help on any of these matters it should be possible to do most or all of the planning without a physical meeting; however, if it becomes necessary to work through teleconferencing, Skype, or Zoom, we are prepared/equipped to do so. In this very serious time it is essential we keep our planning up to date. Check them out today.
If you need an appointment with us, give us a call. Be sure to express any concern you have about the visit. Through a recent decision here in Florida, we can even notarize from the next room or outside a closed window. You can drop documents outside with instructions from our receptionist. We also sanitize all surfaces with which you may come into contact. Keeping a safe distance has become our standard operating procedure. Our main concern is your safety as well as our own.
Stay healthy and listen to the medical professionals.
