Some states require real estate closings be held at an attorney’s office. This is not the case in Florida. However, the fees associated with title insurance, documentary stamps, and recording costs are set by the State of Florida, and are therefore the same whether your closing is held at a title company or a law firm. There are many important benefits of having an attorney handle your closing. Attorneys can provide legal advice, handle contract addenda, and can better mitigate any potential problems that could arise.
